Vido Mausoleum — the Blue Graveyard
Vido island, Corfu, Ionian Islands · Greece
A mausoleum and ossuary of Serbian soldiers on the island of Vido off Corfu. In early 1916, after the retreat across Albania, thousands of exhausted Serbian soldiers died on Vido and in the hospitals of Corfu; many were buried at sea around the island, which Milutin Bojić immortalised as the “Blue Graveyard”.
