Church of the Holy Annunciation in Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik, Dalmatia · Croatia
A Serbian Orthodox church in the old town of Dubrovnik, in Od Puča Street, built in 1877 on the site of old patrician palaces. In the Republic of Ragusa Orthodox Christians were not allowed to spend the night within the city walls, so a church community was founded only in 1790, and the first Orthodox church was built in 1848 next to the cemetery at Boninovo. Next to the church are now an icon museum and the seat of the Serbian Orthodox Church Community of Dubrovnik. The church was completely restored in 2009–2010.
